On a mission to re-build the world of women and work.

A Message from Our Founder and Dean

Why Vedica?

Vedica was born out of a personal truth I couldn't unsee: dignity and dependence don't go hand in hand.

Too many women — bright, talented, ambitious — are still dependent on someone else to live their lives on their terms. The only way I knew to give women dignity was to make them financially independent, and to equip them to lead break-free careers — careers that don't follow rules written for someone else.

Our higher education institutions seem to teach young women how to get jobs – but not how to keep them. Vedica is changing that. Our credo is #dontquit. Assured placements promise a fitting start – and months of transformative personal growth – ensure a successful navigation of future workplaces.

The name 'Vedica' stems from the word 'Veda' — the source of all wisdom. We honour the wisdom of the ages, even as we prepare women for a future that demands both resilience and reinvention. Eternal, even in this world of AI!

I believe every woman deserves a space to discover her voice, her path, her power; the skills to pursue her aspirations and ambitions; the courage to be her. And a sisterhood that carries her, always. Vedica is that space.

For me, it is the expression of a lifelong commitment — to leave the world of women and work, better than I found it.

As women claim (and lend) their voice, the world will be a better place for both men and women – in their homes, at work, in society.

With over 800 alums in the world, we see this mission realised, every day.

With the ambition in our hearts and the goodwill we enjoy, this is just the beginning. Join us.

Warmly, Anuradha

How it all began… the genesis of Vedica

‘I have always believed that no idea is ever a repository of a single individual. It’s there in the cosmos, waiting to subsume a soul. It has infinite and indestructible energy. People either join the dream or the dreamer…’

This couldn’t be truer for Vedica

Our genesis lies in a conversation around women's dignity – and the stark realisation that ‘dignity and dependence don’t go hand in hand’. And if we wanted women to live with dignity – they needed to be independent enough to reject anything lesser. Intellectual, emotional, physical and financial independence. And then the next realisation - that financial independence makes the other three a tiny bit easier. We needed a programme that helped women achieve financial independence-build and sustain their careers. Make sure that these young women ‘don’t quit’.

We designed a curriculum that teaches them the core competencies they need at the workplaces, but equally if not more importantly teaches them all the other attributes critical for success – confidence, self-awareness, the right attitude, resilience, courage, sisterhood. Unlike many other Programmes, we urged our Scholars to be themselves.

Pramath Raj Sinha, widely recognised as an institution-builder in higher education was committed to the idea. His early mentorship and guidance birthed the kernel of what we have today.

The peerless MG (Meenakshi Gopinath) was the first person we shared the idea with. Always very special (also as the principal of LSR, my alma mater) her instant and deep resonance with the idea, gave us the wind beneath our wings for lift-off!

And Vedica was ready to be born.

The forever champions

They say it takes a village to raise a child. Imagine what you need to nurture large cohorts of scholars, year on year! Oodles of goodwill and friends everywhere – at the very least.

A bunch of good people showed up – Mohini Gupta, Ananya Mazumdar, Ruchi Mahajan, Bhavna Bidani – to move from idea to action. Giving tirelessly of their time and energy.

Arti Rajkumar, Onaiza Drabu – helped put some order into the chaos!

Bhawani Singh Shekhawat, and my partners at 9.9 Media – Asheesh Gupta and Vikas Gupta – in different ways helped us swim. Against the tide, in high tide and low tide – without them the journey would have been much tougher and lonelier. Deep gratitude on behalf of the ever-growing Vedica family.

And then came our faculty — the minds who shaped Vedica’s soul. And our stellar programme mentors showed up not just with wisdom, but with heart. They challenged, cheered, and championed our Scholars, always nudging them to raise the bar and never settle for less. Our shadow mentors – a league of extraordinary women opened their worlds to our Scholars. They brought fierce empathy, lived wisdom and unwavering belief. Year-on-year, our Scholars have walked beside them, learning not just from what they say, but from how they show up, take decisions, build teams and lead with authenticity.

Everyday we add to those who wish us well – and to those we 'owe' – who we hope will show up on this page, meaningfully and forever.

What's in a Name?

The name "Vedica" is rooted in the Sanskrit word "Veda" - meaning knowledge, wisdom, and truth. It reflects a thirst for learning and a reverence for the past, even as we prepare women to lead into the future.

"Vedica is a place where women can learn without limits.
It's more than a name - it's a philosophy.”
